Speaker in front of class: So today we are going to try to calculate the velocity like we did the other day. We’ll try to clean it up a little bit and make it a little bit better. Cheryl Thompson interviewing students: Tell me what you like about the LCROSS mission. Josh: I think it’s pretty cool how we get to move it and stuff. Especially with us kids, it’s like an interacting thing. My brother did it when he was younger, and I always thought it was really cool. I’m just a big fan of space, and the fact that we get to crash something into the moon and see what happens is pretty cool. A little later he shouts: I got the answer! It’s negative 1 point 8 7 9 95271…. Another boy: I really like LCROSS. It’s something that probably most kids won’t be able to do or most kids don’t even know about. It’s my second year in this class. I really like it! Another boy: I love space science and I tried for two years to get into the program. It’s really fun to get to do these projects and working here is really cool. Justin: My name is Justin Reyes, and my favorite part about LCROSS is that it’s fun and we get work as a team and visit all the people that work with it. And I get to have fun with LCROSS. Seth: I’m Seth and I really really like how we’re going to be able to crash a spacecraft into the moon to see if there is water. And I think it would be really really fun in the near future to see if we can build another space station out there to hopefully take off to another planet.
